I am not the impulsive type. I study, I prowl, I search for the best possible deal, being a frugal New Englander by origin.
Not so Kindle Fire HD.
I have owned my Kindle Fire for barely 2 months. While I was in San Francisco last week, the power adapter died. I have liked the Kindle Fire, definitely the best Kindle yet, but I missed my iPad, and I was definitely thinking of a new one or of a mini.
So I got back to Miami on Friday, and I order the replacement, and they ship me a new Powerfast rapid charger instead, as they were out of the original power adapters. I am chatting with the technician, and he mentions that the new HD was shipping today.
Huh, I think, I've been seeing the ads.
That's when I made my mistake. I start browsing the 7 * yes SEVEN * reviews on the new one on Amazon, and that got me reading the CNET reviews. I don't know what possessed me. Maybe it was the Dolby Digital. Maybe it was the RIDICULOUS download speeds with the new dual band dual antenna. Maybe it was the wimpy specs on the mini. Whatever it was, I found myself ordering a new HD, and I got a Powerfast for only $10.00 with the order, and a Roo case (that's what is on my Fire now and I love it) for $1.38 more. So I'm happy.
So it arrives tonight after work.
I am so blown away! This thing is AWESOME! This is so good! I love the sound. It absolutely startled me! I mean I JUMPED when I first heard the quality and volume of the sound. Imagine, GOOD QUALITY Pandora without ear buds!
And it is so thin and light! Holy cow, a few ounces makes such a difference! the Fire feels so thick and clunky by comparison. This thing is a PLEASURE to hold and it is light as a feather. And EASILY slips into a trouser pocket!
AND THAT SCREEN! I cannot believe how much better that polarized HD screen is! IT IS RAZOR SHARP. DEEP COLOR SATURATION. Crsip, crisp, crisp. Love it.
And the software that they have put on the new Fire HD is yards and miles above the Fire.
I feel as though I have just gotten a MAJOR upgrade.
I am very happy! The e-mail app is great, all the apps are better, and they are all faster, all more rich, all with better features, just better, better, better.
I am so happy!
I have downloaded a few apps, and even the big ones come in after only a few seconds. This sucker is fast! NO LAG IN NETFLIX, no lag in Pandora, no lag in radio stations. It is FAAAAAASSSSSSTTTTTTT!
